Poverty has a woman’s face. Globally, more than two thirds of people living in poverty are female. Women and girls who live in poor housing, without a proper toilet, are particularly vulnerable to disease and abuse.

This International Women's Day do something incredible by joining Habitat NI's Women Build. Work beside women who have been socially and economically oppressed after generations of discrimination.

Women Build will support Habitat NI’s partnership with Habitat India which is building new homes and proper toilets for vulnerable communities in Delhi and Rajasthan. Be part of this life-changing work that uplifts women, and their families, freeing them from vulnerability and abuse, and giving them a firm foundation for the future. Supporting Habitat's Work

The budget to take part is £2,200p/p (this includes a non-refundable deposit, travel, in-country expenses, a debrief and a minimum £700 donation towards Habitat’s work). Of the £2,200 we ask volunteers to make a minimum personal contribution of £500 towards logistics costs. If you are unable to make this contribution, get in touch.

There are lots of ideas and resources to support fundraising. Volunteers must be clear about what the funds raised will support.
