Through Habitat ReStore we serve thousands of local families by creating access to low-cost home improvement materials and we provide learning and employability training for people of all ages.
Habitat ReStore is the hub for our work, connecting the local and global. By selling donated new and used building and home improvement materials, it serves thousands of families who need help to improve their homes at low cost and diverts tons of material from landfill. ReStore delivers intentional volunteering opportunities and raises funds to build hope and homes around the world.
Every week more than 50 volunteers from across the community give their time to Habitat ReStore, contributing more than 30,000 volunteer hours of service since late 2012. Volunteers of all abilities help in ReStore, including those who come to us through our partner organisations including Stepping Stones, Mencap and The Cedar Foundation. ReStore provides a safe environment for vulnerable people to learn new skills and make new friends.
"I wanted to do charity work, but I didn't want to be stuck behind the till in a clothes shop. I'm practical and hands on and wanted to do something that appealed to me."ReStore Volunteer,
