"Habitat for Humanity Romania is here to provide a safe shelter, both in the short and long-term for those who left the war zone. Help us so we can help them!"

Over 850,000 refugees have arrived into Romania, having fled the conflict in Ukraine. Since the outbreak of war, Habitat for Humanity Romania have been supporting refugees to help them access safe shelter.

Habitat Romania staff have been distributing emergency travel kits to displaced families, as well as supporting those arriving at border locations and at the Bucharest Train station. More than 1,100 people now have temporary accommodation through Habitat’s efforts.

Habitat for Humanity Romania is also working to refurbish empty spaces, turning them into safe shelter for refugees arriving from Ukraine. In partnership with a university in Bucharest, Habitat Romania has renovated a dormitory, to include a kitchen area, which has already accommodated 160 people, read more here.
