There are lots of ways you can raise money, from taking part in an abseil to bag packing in your local supermarket or maybe even holding a quiz night.
Below we have listed some of our favourite Habitat fundraising events but we’ve also given you lots more, alongside everything you need to know about fundraising, in the Habitat Guide to Fundraising.
Builder’s Tea Break
Having a Builder’s Tea Break can be as simple as getting a few friends together with a packet of biscuits or maybe you want to go all out with mugs of steaming hot tea and a tray of bacon butties? Whatever your style, having a Builder’s Tea Break is about having fun and giving a helping hand to families affected by poverty housing.
Every year we dedicate the month of September to the Builder’s Tea Break but you can use this event any time of the year as an excuse to put your feet up and raise funds for families in need.

The Belfast Marathon
The Belfast Marathon takes place every year on May Day Bank Holiday. An impressive 26 miles in total the marathon is not for the faint hearted but is a great way to get active, get fit and get fundraising!
Every year there are lots of people who enter the Belfast Marathon to raise funds for Habitat NI, whether it is as part of a relay team, a mini marathon participant or undertaking the full run as an individual.
Registration for 2012 is already open and we can supply you with your special ‘Run for Home’ marathon t-shirt. Go on, set yourself the challenge and help families build their way out of poverty.
