Global Village Open Teams 2012

GV Volunteer Aislinn

Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland is a key partner in the global mission raising funds and sending volunteers to work alongside families in need in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Global Village volunteers, work alongside families in need to build decent, affordable housing. We welcome anyone who wants to make a difference by picking up a hammer and helping to change lives. No construction experience is necessary as all sites are supervised.

The following Global Village Open Team options are currently available for 2012. Further teams and opportunities may become available. Click each country for further information.

*Fundraising Challenges are correct at time of print and include flights, all in country costs (accommodation, transport, food, water) and a donation to the work of Habitat for Humanity.

Student Build South Africa

As well as our Open Team opportunities we are also looking for up to 40 volunteers to travel to a Student Build in Capetown, South Africa, 16th – 24th June 2012.

 

Volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of this event that will see 50 houses across 3 provinces and involve over 2000 youth from South Africa and across the world.

There is a fundraising target of approximately £2000 to take part in teh build. This includes flights, accommodation, food, orientation materials and a donation to Habitat for Humanity.

Application forms are available to download from the website, from the office or will be available at the information sessions. A £100 non-refundable deposit is required with your application.

Application Deadlines and Selection Days

All applicants will need to attend a Recruitment & Selection Day
  • For applications received after 2nd December and before 20th January, Recruitment & Selection will be held on Friday 3rd February (afternoon or evening).
