Building on the hundreds of volunteers from across the United States and Canada who have already supported Habitat's local work we want to welcome others to join us.
Peace Building Global Village
Over the past 18 years Habitat NI has gained extensive experience in building bridges between communities divided by violence, equipping and positioning the organisation to deliver more intentional volunteer development programmes, which are people centred, rather than building focused.
Drawing on that experience, Habitat NI offers a unique global village experience which contextualizes peacebuilding in the practical work of regenerating local communities impacted by decades of violence.
As well as building on site on our local projects in Belfast, Habitat NI’s in-house trainers facilitate group learning sessions, sharing sophisticated and inventive methodologies of peacebuilding, developing and equipping participants to respond to a global issue.
“Much more than building. I took away their vision of a way to reconcile and move forward, with hopes of applying them in my own personal and professional life.”
