Habitat NI partners with the Welcome Organisation in Belfast, aiming to support vulnerable people within our community with our 'House to Home' initiative.

undefinedThe ‘House to Home’ initiative is part of Habitat NI’s ongoing partnership with Welcome. It will refurbish homes to support vulnerable people who have been homeless to sustain tenancies in rental accommodation. The project is holistic. Habitat focus on the construction side of things and Welcome provide wider support to the new tenants.

The aim is to help make a house a home, place for a fresh start. 

Our volunteers are from all backgrounds. As they work together onsite, barriers are broke down between different communities and they gain a better understanding of some of the challenges the most vulnerable in society face.

Our current project is in CuChulainn House, North Belfast. Volunteer tasks include lots of stripping wall paper, filling and painting.
