1 year on from the devastating earthquakes, your support is making a real difference to families who lost everything.

undefinedOne year has passed since a devastating magnitude -7.8 earthquake struck Nepal on 25th April 2015. This was the worst disaster that hit Nepal in decades. Only 17 days later a second earthquake of 7.4 magnitude hit, taking more lives and destroying more homes. The lives of approximately 8 million people were affected.

Thanks to the generosity of local people like you, we've helped more than 218,500 people through our disaster response programmes.

What we've done so far:

  • 12,120 people received winterization kits
  • 25,710 temporary shelter kit distribution
  • 650 tons of rubble removed
  • 100,000 water backpack distribution
  • 16,244 safety assessments on homes were carried out
  • 689 people received basic training for safe shelter awareness

Together we are making a difference to those who lost everything 1 year ago.

Looking forward..
We are now implementing our ‘Build Nepal’ strategy, a post-earthquake recovery programme of 5 years, to directly support more than 50,000 severely affected people, by putting them in charge of rebuilding their own homes.
Many challenges still remain and too many families are still struggling to rebuild their lives. With your support we can help. Please give whatever you can afford.
